Intensity Pro Problems

Well, here's a quick catch up after my first post regarding the Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro.

Firstly, lets start with the driver installation. I downloaded the latest drivers from Blackmagic's website and installed them (in Windows 7). This all seemed fine, so I rebooted the PC and was prompted to update the firmware after the reboot. That all seemed to go fine and then I rebooted again.

After loading up I opened their Media Express software only to be greeted by a message informing me that no device could be found. Hmm, I checked device manager and saw that the card 'could not be started' so I tried one more reboot.

Again, I loaded up the Media Express software and voila! The app loaded up and I saw a black screen. I then turned on the 360 (hooked up to the component input on the card, with the correct input settings set in control panel) and still could not see a preview in the app.

I also tried HDMI but the 360 wouldn't even load properly when plugged in for some reason.

I also inadvertently found a possible bug too, after powering down the 360 my PC became unstable and completely froze (about 20 seconds later). So I decided to shrink my Windows 7 partition and stick XP on the end of the drive.

An hour or two later and I had XP installed and updated with all my drivers and windows updates. I thought I'd try VirtualDUB's capture as I've used that before and loaded it up, still nothing on screen eventhough I knew the settings were correct.

I then tried using a composite cable and selecting composite input for the card. Finally, I could see something on my screen! But at a less than desirable PAL resolution.

I've now also tried installing older drivers (to force the card to install an older firmware) and still get nothing on screen in 720p mode. I'm going to re-upgrade it and fiddle about some more with the settings.

Hopefully I'll get this set up and working how I want it soon and will post how I did for anyone else that might have similar problems.
